Luxury watchmaking and high-jewellery creations are Piaget’s two traditional fields of expertise. This model unites the most emblematic watchmaking complication - the tourbillon, here in an even more impressive skeletonised version - with an original case set with diamonds. Just like the bridges that are also gem-set, the creation of this version requires exceptional expertise. This Piaget Emperador model presents the world's only gem-set skeleton tourbillon.

After three years of development that culminated in the creation of the world’s thinnest tourbillon movement, the master watchmakers and gem-setters of the Manufacture spent an additional twelve months perfecting this gem-set skeleton model. This involved re-balancing the entire movement and crafting certain parts from gold. Several patents have been filed as a result of this extensive research.
