2014 Spirit Awards Red Carpet

For the seventh consecutive year, Piaget co-hosted the Film Independent Spirit Awards, a star-studded affair honoring the best performers, writers, directors and producers of independent film. With several of 2013’s most noteworthy films being independent productions, the event drew some of the biggest names in Hollywood, including Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Cate Blanchett, Michael Fassbender, Jared Leto, Jon Hamm, Lupita Nyong’o and Reese Witherspoon, among others.

Piaget was the watch of choice for the day’s big winners, including Best Male Lead, Matthew McConaughey,who wore a Piaget Gouverneur chronograph watch in rose gold on a black alligator strap, along with a pair of rose gold and onyx Piaget Emperador Coussin cufflinks.

 Fellow nominee and rising star, Michael B. Jordan, also wore a rose gold Piaget Gouverneur, on a brown alligator strap. “12 Years a Slave” director and Spirit Award winner for Best Director, Steve McQueen, chose an all black Piaget Polo FortyFive watch, while the show’s host, Patton Oswalt, and presenter, Miles Teller, both wore a Piaget Emperador in white gold.

For many of the afternoon’s most glamorous women, the Piaget Rose collection was the jewelry of choice. 

Piaget’s global ambassador, Gong Li,dazzled photographers and fans in a stunning pair of Piaget Rose Passion torsade earrings,a Piaget Rose ring, and a Rose high jewelry watch, all in white gold with diamonds. 
Longtime friend of the maison, Anna Kendrick, wore a matching suite of Piaget Rose jewels, including stud earrings, a ring and bracelet, all in rose gold with diamonds.

Presenter and star of “12 Years a Slave”, Sarah Paulson, also chose Piaget Rose stud earrings and paired them with a matching Piaget Rose ring and Piaget Possession ring, all in white gold with diamonds.
Best Female Lead nominee, Brie Larson, captivated photographers and fans in a dramatic vintage yellow gold Piaget cuff with a coral dial and turquoise accents, along with simple Piaget Rose gold stud earrings.
Also in vintage was Anna Anissimova who chose a white gold cuff accented with lapis and turquoise, along with a Piaget Rose ring in white gold with diamonds.

Indie darling, Greta Gerwig, opted for cutout Piaget Rose earrings paired with a Piaget Possession ring, both in white gold and diamonds, while Best Female Lead nominee, June Squibb, layered two Piaget Rose necklaces and also wore cutout earrings and a matching Piaget Rose ring, all in rose gold with diamonds.

Angela Bassett sparkled in white gold and diamond Piaget Rose cutout drop earrings along with Piaget Rose and Possession bracelets and a Piaget Altiplano Limelight Party watch.

For nominee, Julie Delpy, the look was Piaget Possession drop earrings, a bracelet and a ring, all in rose gold with diamonds. And presenter, Kristen Bell, went clean and minimal in white gold and diamond Piaget Possession earrings and a gray dial Piaget Polo watch in white gold with diamonds on a black satin strap.

This year the Piaget Producer’s Award went to Toby Halbrooks and James M. Johnston. The award features a $25,000 grant and is presented to emerging producers who demonstrate creativity, tenacity and vision to produce quality independent films, despite limited resources.

Throughout the afternoon and following the ceremony, award winners and guests celebrated in Piaget’s exclusive backstage lounge where some of the maison’s newest jewelry, as well as rare vintage creations were on display.
