Titanium chronograph flyback watch - Piaget Luxury Watch G0A34002

Watch G0A34002

Chronograph, flyback, self-winding, titanium, steel

If the memory of the past does indeed serve to write the future, the Piaget Polo FortyFive is certainly a vivid illustration of this maxim. Featuring a trendy 45 mm diameter case reminiscent of the 45 minutes duration of a polo match, it adopts a resolutely sporty attitude with an exterior that is a first for Piaget, combining titanium, injected rubber and steel. This Piaget watch sets itself apart from the rest but is nonetheless treated to outstanding finishing. In terms of its movement, this model is equipped with the self-winding caliber 880P movement complete with flyback, dual time-zone and large date features, displaying its functions on a black, red and silver-colored dial.

Chronograph Movement

Chronograph Movement
The Piaget Polo Chronograph model houses the new 800P calibre, which is the first mechanical chronograph movement to be entirely designed, developed and produced by the Piaget Manufacture. In addition to the chronograph and flyback functions, this proprietary movement also indicates the hours, minutes, small seconds at 6 o’clock, date at 12 o’clock and a second time zone. Within the select circle of Manufacture-made chronograph movements, the 800P calibre can be distinguished by its 24 hour dual time-zone display positioned at 9 o’clock, in the place usually reserved for the standard chronograph hour counter. Featuring two barrels and a large screw-regulated balance, this mechanical self-winding movement offers a 52-hour power reserve in activated chronograph mode. Equipped with a column-wheel mechanism and vertical coupling-clutch, the 5.6 mm thick 800P calibre is endowed with all the attributes of a Haute Horlogerie chronograph movement. The signature Piaget finishes – blued screws, circular Geneva ribbing and calibre number – further enhance the exclusive status of the movement.

1874 - 1942 Origins

It was in La Côte-aux-Fées, a little village tucked into the Jura mountains of Switzerland, that Georges Edouard Piaget in 1874 laid the foundations of what would become, a few decades later, an inimitable hallmark in the world of luxury and precision. He set up his first workshop on his family’s farm and devoted himself to crafting highly precise mechanical clock movements for prestigious watchmaking companies. As he received more orders, this small-scale production developed into a family business. The name of Piaget began to echo well beyond the peaks and valleys of the Swiss Jura. As orders poured in from discerning clients who had learned to recognize in Piaget’s clock movements a rarely equaled mastery of the craft, the workshop took on new dimensions. Timothée Piaget, Georges Edouard’s son, took over the family business in 1911, with the same passion and pursuit of absolute quality as his father, and with equal success.
