This timepiece toys humorously with the symbolism of passing time through its gem-set case back, crown and bezel which dazzles with baguette-cut diamonds. The technology used for the perpetual calendar display does not compromise the elegance of this model in any way. Preciously combining form and function, this watch also features an original gem-set oscillating weight that is visible through the sapphire crystal case back of the white-gold case. The finishes on the gem-set gold dial, which bears the retrograde date and day displays as well as those for the months, leap years or double time zones, render it an exceptional timepiece to be admired from all angles.

The 856P movement, known as the ""traveler's movement"" is an automatic mechanical movement. Similar to its immediate predecessor, the 800P movement, the 856P movement features a double barrel. It is characterized by the addition of three functions that are particularly useful to the modern traveler: a second time zone, a day/night indicator and a date display at 12 o'clock.
Its 12-hour time display at 7 o'clock, allows the setting of a second time indication, different from the home time governed by the central movement. A day/night indicator is included in the central movement, depending on home time, and tells the traveler if the sun is still up in his home country. On the other side of the main dial, at 5 o'clock, a small seconds indication completes this perfect watch for the globe-trotter.
The circular Côtes de Genève, the circular-grained mainplate, the beveled bridges, the blued screws and the oscillating weight engraved with the Piaget coat of arms and set with 25 brilliant-cut diamonds round off this exceptional movement, while remaining true to the aesthetic codes cherished by the Swiss watchmaking brand.
