The Piaget Emperador watch, an elegant blend of straight lines and curves featuring flared corners, was redesigned from a 1957 best-seller. The Piaget coat of arms at 12 o’clock echoes the original on an updated dial. The sunburst guilloché dial and applied white-gold hour markers form an elegant background for the display of the hours, minutes, small seconds and power-reserve indicator.

A development of the 500P, the 551P is a automatic movement distinguished by the addition of two small complications: an off-centered small seconds at 10 o'clock, a Piaget signature feature and a power-reserve indicator at 6 o'clock. It is also fitted with a balance stop.
The circular Côtes de Genève, circular-grained mainplate, beveled bridges and blued screws adding the finishing touches to this movement are reminders of the Swiss watchmaking brand's high aesthetic values.
