Timeless purity and classicism come together in this ultra-thin, white-gold watch, which pays homage to the elegance and refinement characteristic of Piaget. Asserting the minimalist spirit reflected in the Altiplano's extremely modern proportions, Piaget once again tests the limits of small mechanisms with two new records in the art of the ultra-thin. The first achievement is the integration of the micro-rotor principle, the thinnest automatic mechanical movement at just 2.35 mm. The second achievement is the width, with a record for the slimmest watch of its type at 5.25 mm. The 3-level black dial also exudes purity with a sub-dial at four o'clock for the small seconds. A truly modern classic that is both sober and elegant.

The 1208P movement, is a direct descendant of the famous 12P movement, and is the thinnest automatic mechanical movement in the world. To set this record at 2.35 mm required all of Piaget's expertise in ultra-thin movements and refined components. For example, some of the gears in the 1208P movement measure no more than 0,12 mm and are hardly thicker than a human hair. The space between the wheels has been reduced to its minimum of only 0.1 mm. The movement is fitted with a balance stop.
In order to make the best use of space, the rose gold micro-rotor decorated with the Piaget coat-of-arms, is off-center and positioned at 9 o'clock. The movement is fitted with a small seconds which is also off-center and located at 5 o'clock on the dial.
As part of the watchmaker Piaget's constant effort to differentiate its models, it has decorated the 1208P movement wheels with a sunburst motif and a dedicated index assembly carries the stylized "P" of Piaget like a secret signature.
Circular Côtes de Genève, a circular-grained mainplate, beveled bridges and blued screws add the finishing touches to this movement, and are reminders of the Swiss watchmaking brand's high aesthetic values.
