Iconic gold watches: Piaget Andy Warhol watch

A legendary artist and leading figure of the Pop Art movement, Andy Warhol maintained a unique connection with Maison Piaget throughout his life. Passionate about elegance and innovation, he owned no fewer than seven Piaget timepieces. At the crossroads of art and fine watchmaking, this Swiss watch became a symbol of a defining era. Today, it continues to evolve through a one-of-a-kind collection that proudly bears the artist’s name.

The gold watches from the Andy Warhol Piaget collection stand out with their bold yet refined design. Their case - either sleek or delicately adorned with the Clous de Paris motif - reflects timeless elegance, blending modernity with horological heritage. The dial, available in a variety of precious shades - including a deep blue meteorite - adds a mysterious and distinctive touch to these exquisite Swiss watches. This unique combination enhances the natural brilliance of these gold watches, offering a fresh take on a horological classic.

The history of Piaget in key dates

Founded in 1874 by Georges Édouard Piaget in the village of La Côte-aux-Fées, the Maison quickly rose to prominence as a master of high watchmaking and fine jewellery. By 1943, it expanded its expertise by developing its own movements, gaining a rare degree of technical independence.

In 1960, Piaget launched its first ultra-thin watches, an innovation that marked a turning point in fine watchmaking. The following decade saw a golden era with the creation of the Beta21 movement, the first Swiss quartz caliber, which powered the iconic gold Black Tie watch worn by Andy Warhol.

The meeting between Yves Piaget and Andy Warhol in New York in 1979 further deepened the bond between art and time. Warhol joined the Piaget Society, becoming part of a world of glamour and creativity. Today, this story lives on through the Andy Warhol collection, a vibrant tribute to this singular alliance.

A distinctive watch collection

The Andy Warhol collection holds a unique place in the Piaget catalog. More than a reissue, it represents a meeting of two worlds: artistic creativity and fine watchmaking. The Andy Warhol gold watch has become a coveted piece among discerning collectors, thanks to its bold design and striking personality.

In this new version, Piaget offers extensive personalization options, allowing you to create a truly unique limited-edition watch - several dial variations, including meteorite and other noble materials, along with a wide range of colorful straps - catering to every preference and expectation. This versatility brings a contemporary edge to the gold watch, while honoring the avant-garde spirit so dear to Andy Warhol.

Andy Warhol’s legacy at the heart of the design

Beyond aesthetics, this gold watch collection pays tribute to Andy Warhol’s philosophy, who saw time as a space for experimentation and transformation. His famous quote, “They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself,” perfectly reflects the boldness and creativity that Piaget brings to life through this timepiece.

The Andy Warhol gold watch is much more than a timekeeper - it is a wearable work of art, symbolizing a dialogue between past and present, between art and horological craftsmanship.
