Manufacture Piaget 1208P ultra-thin automatic mechanical movement with small seconds, the thinnest in the world (2.35 mm thick).
The 1208P movement, is a direct descendant of the famous 12P movement, and is the thinnest automatic mechanical movement in the world. To set this record at 2.35 mm required all of Piaget's expertise in ultra-thin movements and refined components. For example, some of the gears in the 1208P movement measure no more than 0,12 mm and are hardly thicker than a human hair. The space between the wheels has been reduced to its minimum of only 0.1 mm. The movement is fitted with a balance stop.
In order to make the best use of space, the rose gold micro-rotor decorated with the Piaget coat-of-arms, is off-center and positioned at 9 o'clock. The movement is fitted with a small seconds which is also off-center and located at 5 o'clock on the dial.
As part of the watchmaker Piaget's constant effort to differentiate its models, it has decorated the 1208P movement wheels with a sunburst motif and a dedicated index assembly carries the stylized "P" of Piaget like a secret signature.
Circular Côtes de Genève, a circular-grained mainplate, beveled bridges and blued screws add the finishing touches to this movement, and are reminders of the Swiss watchmaking brand's high aesthetic values.
