Altiplano Ultimate Concept

The new Altiplano Ultimate Concept unique piece is a celebration of the first beat of the first AUC. Discover several stylistic details that recall this incredible journey. Starting at the top of the dial, the Piaget logo is in a historic font that is the same typeface used in the logo above the manufacture in La Côte-aux-Fées, the village where Piaget was born and remains today. Two enlarged circles sit among the dots of the minute ring, marking the time – 7:47pm – when the AUC first came to life. At 2:30, the birthday of the AUC – 7th February 2017, is inscribed in a small window. And a “La Côte-aux-Fées” inscription has also been engraved onto the ratchet wheel along with the manufacture’s GPS coordinates. Four years of research and development, designing and crafting were required to reach the prototype of this ultra-thin watch. A horological feat, each part was redesigned and miniaturised to fit within its 2 mm profile. From a merged case and movement, an ultra-thin sapphire crystal, new constructions for the barrel, and the miniaturization of each component, this men's mechanical watch reinvents the codes of watchmaking. Winner of the 2020 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève's Aiguille d'Or award, the Altiplano Ultimate Concept takes our pursuit of ultra-thinness to new heights. This new edition is a tribute to the very first beats of the Altiplano Ultimate Concept to have been birthed from our manufacture. From a historical Piaget logo, the date and time that the 2017 edition was created, to the GPS coordinations of our manufacture in La-Côte-Aux-Fées, it is gracefully adorned with meaningful messages. This luxury mechanical watch is a single piece edition that pushes the boundaries of watchmaking, tied together with a sleek dark blue alligator leather strap.
