Combining Haute Horlorgerie and Haute Joaillerie is an art that Piaget masters with dazzling style. In technical terms, this model is the very expression of what Piaget carries in its genes, its unique expertise in the field of ultra-thin movements being matched only by its determination constantly to develop complication calibres that are both innovative and creative. The Calibre 1270P is the first Piaget ultra-thin self-winding tourbillon movement with a thickness of only 5.55 mm. Fully exhibited thanks to its sapphire crystal dial, this model's technical prowess is also highlighted by the extreme sophistication of its gem-setting. Baguette-cut and brilliant-cut diamonds adorn not only its case, profiles and case back (which in turn reveals the carriage and power-reserve display), but also its folding-clasp buckle and the rings around the oscillating weight and tourbillon. Over 140 hours of gem-setting were required to create this numbered timepiece. Simple, precious and elegant, it shines with all the glittering impact of an artistic masterpiece in the watchmaking annals of the Manufacture Piaget. It is the epitome of the art of gem-setting and fine watchmaking. The beauty of its forms, its sparkling diamonds and the efficiency of its functions are in perfect harmony, seen even in the figure of 8 formed by the two gem-set rings of its tourbillon and oscillating weight.
