2018 Piaget Prix Romand for best designer and jeweler

Highly protective of traditional craftsmanship, Piaget also encourages the development of young talent by bestowing Design and Jeweler Awards to fourth year jewelry students from applied and technical arts schools in French-speaking Switzerland.

For the past three years, Piaget has extended this award to schools in French-speaking Switzerland: the Centre de Formation Professionnelle Arts de Genève (CFP Arts), the École Technique de la Vallée de Joux (ETVJ), the École des Arts Appliqués de la Chaux de Fonds (EAA) and the Association Romande des Métiers de la Bijouterie (ASMEBI).

Ms. Yacout El Glaoui, Piaget’s Marketing and Communications Director, handed out the Best Designer and Best Jeweler Awards during a ceremony at the Piaget Manufacture in Plan-les-Ouates on June 26, 2018, in the presence of all the students as well as their teachers.

The Jeweler Award, given to the best creation of a jewel according to an artistic design, went to Ms. Julia Buttet, in training in Geneva at the Centre de Formation Professionnelle Arts (CFP Arts), while the Design Award, which rewards the artistic and aesthetic exploration in jewelry on the theme of the sun, went to Mr. Félicien Riondel of the École des Arts Appliqués de la Chaux de Fond (EAA).
