At Piaget, colours are vivid, vibrant, brilliant. They serve a deliberate commitment to flamboyance and a will to stand out from the rest.

At the beginning of Piaget’s history, there were no colours or gold yet. Until 1957, the Maison launched the 9P, one of the thinnest hand-wound mechanical movement. The thinness of the movement allowed for larger dials and more surface area for creative exploration. This mastery started to open new playground for the Piaget family.

1963, opal, turquoise, coral, tiger’s eye – as magnetic colours and gemstones that caught the eye of the era’s tastemakers, Piaget started the experiment of bringing ornamental stones as elements of surprise on the case or on the dial, revolutionizing how colors were used in watchmaking. In 1996, Piaget unveiled its first ornamental dial watches, a testament to the skills of its stonecutters who were able to slice these delicate stones in such a way as to celebrate their unique beauty.

Flamboyant expressions

The Maison applied their skills and savoir-faire to the art of jewellery making, Piaget liberated its signature in the flamboyance of colours beyond watchmaking. Unveiled at the Basel Watch Fair in 1969, the 21st Century collection, a series of one-of-a-kind jewellery watches, showcased not only Piaget’s audacity in fusing watch, jewellery, fashion and contemporary designs, but also dazzling colours such as lapis, malachite, corals, and more.

" The Piaget color palette is vibrant, vivid, eye-catching and boundless, perfectly expressing the joyful festive spirit of the Family and Maison. The flamboyant expressions of Piaget high jewellery watches' colors and designs drew the attention of the glamorous Piaget Society: a mix of artists, designers, actors, musicians and models, such as Andy Warhol, Ursula Andress and Alain Delon. It was a time of cultural ferment, of social, economic, artistic and fashion revolution. The new youth-fueled elite craved for symbols to suit their casual yet opulent lifestyles.
