Sixtie

Bold, liberated shape and an interplay of light and textures, Sixtie carries forward the Maison’s unique vision of timekeeping:

At Piaget, a watch is first and foremost a piece of jewellery”.

“DO WHAT HAS NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE”

1969 marked a turning point for Piaget and the wider watchmaking world: staying true to the family mindset “Do what has never been done before”, Piaget unveiled the 21st Century Collection at the Basel Fair.
By redrawing the boundaries between watchmaking and the art of jewellery, Piaget reinvented the jewellery watch. As Yves Piaget said, from now on “A Piaget watch is first and foremost a piece of jewellery”. It took on the shape of a cuff or a Swinging Sautoir with bold designs. A new way to wear time was born. Among these avant-garde creations, the trapeze shape, so unexpected, with a rule-breaking extravagance to its free-form interpretation, fast became a Piaget stylistic signature.

“A Piaget watch is first and foremost a piece of jewellery”, said Yves Piaget. Sixtie women watch adorns the wrist like a jewel, revealing a free-spirited femininity that is as distinctive as it is inspiring. Standing out from the crowd, its trapeze shape brings together the Maison’s heritage and the present in a graceful balance between the extravagance and the elegance.

FREE SHAPE, FREE SPIRIT, FREE EXPRESSION

Almost 60 years later, Piaget is celebrating the flamboyant creativity of its heritage, paying homage to its golden age, the 60s.
Sixtie reinvents the trapeze shape that plays such a vital role in Piaget’s story of artistry and audacity. This asymmetrical jewellery watch form is lusciously softened, recalling the 1969 Swinging Sautoirs of the 21st Century collection. Its angles as if melted into strong yet sensual lines, creating a unique shape that seems to shift between trapeze, square, round or cushion. Free-spirited and free-form, free from the constraints of convention or expectation, in the true Piaget style; the play of shapes.

A WATCH WITH CHARACTER

The signature gadroons on the bezel refer to the Piaget 14101, a Beta 21 quartz watch, the first timepiece to feature the chiselled lines. These delicate lines playing with light tell of Piaget’s mastery of gold.
The sophisticated gold bracelet , with its trapezoidal links echoing the trapezoidal shape of the case, fits like a second skin on the wrist. Its suppleness and radiance are a further expression of the mastery of Piaget artisans in the shaping of gold.

The Sixtie women’s watch embodies Piaget’s spirit of freedom. With its asymmetrical shape inspired by the golden age of the 1960s and its unique play of light, it adorns the wrist like a true jewel.

A trapeze-shaped watch, signature of a bold style

The Sixtie watch stands out with its trapezoid shape - distinctive and deeply feminine. Softened edges create an asymmetrical silhouette that shifts with the light, moving between square, cushion, and round shapes, evoking the Swinging Sautoirs of Piaget’s iconic 19th-century collection. A deliberate freedom of form, balancing structure and movement. The case, available in steel or gold, is decorated with delicate fluting. Intricate engravings catch the light, showcasing Piaget’s mastery of artisanal craftsmanship. On select models, the bezel sparkles with subtly set diamonds, extending the shimmer to the wrist. The gold bracelet, composed of trapezoidal links, flows smoothly on the skin. Both sensual and graphic, this trapeze-shaped women’s watch asserts a style that doesn’t follow trends: it inspires them. It’s made for those who want to express their personality in every detail. “At Piaget, a watch is first and foremost a piece of jewellery” Yves Piaget once said. The Sixtie women’s watch perfectly illustrates this philosophy.

When Piaget reinvents the jewellery watch

1969 marked a turning point for Piaget at the Basel Fair, unveiling its revolutionary vision: the 21st Century Collection. True to its family motto, “Always do better than necessary,” the Maison redefined boundaries by blending watchmaking with jewellery. Watches became bold, expressive jewels: cuff bracelets, Swinging Sautoirs and sculpted dials took center stage. Among these avant-garde creations, the trapeze-shaped watch quickly became an iconic signature. Its unexpected shape symbolized a daring stylistic freedom, marrying extravagance with transgressive elegance. Nearly 60 years later, Piaget pays tribute to this golden era with the Sixtie jewellery watch and its trapeze shape - an impeccable embodiment of Piaget style in all its glory.

Watchmaking mastery that transcends time

Nestled in the peaceful Swiss village of La Côte-aux-Fées, Piaget’s roots run deep in an environment both intimate and inspiring. Founded in 1874 by Georges-Édouard Piaget, the Maison combined technical excellence with refined style from the start. The Sixtie women’s watch fully embraces this tradition of excellence. Enhanced by a hardstone dial and a sculpted bracelet reminiscent of fine jewellery, each model is a work of art. Its expressive design, impeccable craftsmanship, and singular play of light reflect the skill of Piaget’s artisans. More than a tribute to the past, this jewellery watch affirms a vision for the present. Wearing a Sixtie means embodying style and freedom.
