ULTRA-THIN MASTERY

Since 1874, Piaget has redefined watchmaking, merging ultra-thin expertise with bold creativity. From the 9P movement in 1957 to today’s revolutionary designs, the Maison's Swiss ultra-thin watches have consistently pushed the boundaries of innovation, guided by Piaget's motto: “Always do better than necessary".

THE ART OF THINNESS SINCE 1957

For over six decades, Piaget has led the ultra-thin revolution. The hand-wound 9P (1957) and self-winding 12P (1960) marked milestones in watchmaking, setting records for thinness and elegance. The innovation continued in 1976 with the 7P, the world’s thinnest quartz movement, enabling bold new designs like the Piaget Polo 79.

MASTERING THINNESS, MAXIMIZING INNOVATION

Achieving extreme thinness requires more than miniaturization—it demands reinvention. At Piaget’s integrated manufacture, the Ateliers de l’extraordinaire, every stage of the creation of ultra-thin watches unfolds under the Maison’s roof, enabling seamless collaboration between watchmakers, engineers, and artisans.
By mastering all the steps and, Piaget eliminates redundancies and optimizes every millimetre. Advanced materials like cobalt alloys enable components as thin as 0.12mm—barely thicker than a human hair.

Piaget also redefines technical watchmaking with ultra-thin major complications housed in extraordinarily thin structures. A breaking record at the time of its launch as the world’s thinnest shaped mechanical tourbillon, the 600P, and the 1290P Minute Repeater, an ultra-thin marvel in chiming watches.
The latest breakthrough, the AUC Tourbillon, integrates a flying tourbillon within a 2mm case, proving that Piaget’s pursuit of thinness knows no limits.

ULTRA-THIN UNLOCKS A WORLD OF CREATIVITY

Piaget’s ultra-thin mastery unlocks new creative possibilities, transforming timepieces into works of art. Since 1963, by eliminating bulk, it allows for the use of ornamental stone dials, a Piaget signature expressed today in Andy Warhol Collection. Malachite, lapis lazuli, turquoise, and tiger’s eye elevate each ultra-thin watch into a vibrant, artistic masterpiece.
Ultra-thin expertise also brings a new level of sophistication to sport watches. The Piaget Polo Skeleton combines bold aesthetics with a sleek open-worked movement, defining the Maison’s vision of sports elegant watches.

Piaget ultra-thin watches: the art of horological finesse

Since its beginnings, Piaget has embodied excellence in the world of ultra-thin watches for both men and women. In 1957, the Swiss Maison revolutionized fine watchmaking with the launch of the 9P movement - an exceptionally thin, hand-wound caliber. This technical feat marked the beginning of a continuous quest for innovation, where thinness became a true signature.

A legacy rooted in innovation

Founded in 1874 in La Côte-aux-Fées, Piaget draws inspiration from time-honored watchmaking savoir-faire. The creation of the 9P movement in 1957 was a turning point, paving the way for Swiss mastery in ultra-thin watches. Just three years later, the Maison unveiled the 12P - the world’s first ultra-thin automatic movement - further cementing its expertise. In 1976, Piaget introduced the 7P, the thinnest quartz movement of its time, enabling the creation of bold models like the iconic Piaget Polo 79 Swiss watch.

Thinness as a creative force

At Piaget, thinness is not just about reducing thickness - it's a refined art that demands constant reinvention of watchmaking techniques. In the brand’s "Ateliers de l’Extraordinaire" watchmakers, engineers, and artisans work side by side under one roof. This close collaboration optimizes every millimeter, resulting in ultra-thin watches for men and women that balance functionality, durability, and elegance.

Piaget uses innovative materials like cobalt-based alloys, with components as thin as 0.12 mm. These achievements continue to push boundaries while ensuring the robustness expected by discerning Swiss watch enthusiasts.

Iconic watch collections

The Altiplano collection is a testament to Piaget’s pursuit of thinness and elegance, showcasing the brand's mastery of ultra-thin watch design. Models like the Altiplano 38 mm 900P and the Altiplano Ultimate Concept (AUC) - recipient of the Aiguille d’Or at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève - represent the pinnacle of mechanical and aesthetic excellence. These ultra-thin watches for men and women showcase Piaget’s technical mastery and minimalist design language.

Piaget also sets new standards with its ultra-thin complications. The 600P mechanical tourbillon and the 1290P minute repeater movement hold world records for thinness. The AUC Tourbillon, featuring a flying tourbillon within a case only 2 mm thick, reflects the boldness and precision that define the brand.

Where finesse meets aesthetics

Mastering ultra-thin watches opens new creative avenues in design. Since 1963, Piaget has incorporated ornamental stones - malachite, lapis lazuli, turquoise, and tiger’s eye - into dials, adding a unique artistic touch. The Andy Warhol collection showcases this approach, where timepieces become works of art.

This aesthetic pursuit also extends to sporty models like the Piaget Polo Skeleton. This bold piece combines an openworked movement with mechanical finesse, showcasing Piaget’s modern and refined vision of Swiss ultra-thin watches.

In the Ateliers de l’Extraordinaire, each timepiece is meticulously finished - with guilloché, gem-setting, or "Decor Palace" engraving. Piaget elevates technique through beauty, crafting ultra-thin watches that are precise, delicate, and visually striking.
